Nagindas Sanghvi (March 10, 1920 – July 12, 2020) was a political science professor, author and columnist in English, Hindi and Gujarati from Gujarat, India. He received India's fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri in 2019.
Nagindas Sanghvi was born on March 10, 1920 in Bhavnagar and received his education there. After completing his education he earned Rs. Started career as a typist in an advertising company on a monthly salary of Rs.30. After several other jobs, he turned to teaching. Sanghvi started his teaching career (1951-80) from Bhawans College Andheri. Later he taught Politics at Ruparel College, Mahim and Mithibai College, Vileparle. He started writing for newspapers while teaching in college. He was known as "Naginbapa".
He has written a total of 29 books in Gujarati and English. Sardar Patel - A Devoted Life, Nagindas Sanghvi's Tad Ne Phad, Vishwa, Sonsari Vata, Jeevan, Rajneeti etc. has created books. He used to write political columns in the Gujarati magazine Chitralekha. He received India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, for his contribution to the field of literature. He also received the Vaju Kotak Gold Medal. He passed away on July 12, 2020.
