Baba Kanshiram (11 July 1882 – 15 October 1943) was an Indian poet and freedom activist born in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
The death sentence given to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev in AD 1931 had a great impact on him. He vowed to wear black clothes till India got independence. He kept his promise until his death on October 15, 1943 and became affectionately known as Siahposh Journal (The Black General).
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru called him Pahadi Gandhi in 1937 AD.
