કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રી-KK Shastri

કેશવરામ કાશીરામ શાસ્ત્રી અથવા ટૂંકાક્ષરોમાં કે. કા. શાસ્ત્રી બહુશ્રુત વિદ્વાન હતા. કેશવરામ કાશીરામ શાસ્ત્રીનો જન્મ જૂનાગઢ જિલ્લાના માંગરોળ ગામે ૨૮ જુલાઇ ૧૯૦૫ના રોજ થયેલો. તેમનું મુળવતન પોરબંદર જિલ્લાના કુતિયાણા તાલુકાનું પસવારી ગામ હતું. તેઓ વ્યાકરણના પ્રખર જ્ઞાતા હતા. મહામાહિમોપાધ્યાય, બ્રહ્મર્ષિ અને વિધાવાચસ્પતિ જેવા ઉપનામથી ઓળખાતા તેઓ પાંડિત્યની પરાકાષ્ટાએ પહોચેલા. તેઓએ મેટ્રિક સુધી જ અભ્યાસ કર્યો હોવા છતાં ગુજરાતી તથા સંસ્કૃત ભાષાના પ્રખર પંડિત અને 'ડોક્ટરેટ' (Ph.d) માટેના માન્ય ગાઈડ પણ હતા. તેઓ મહામાહિમોપાધ્યાય અને શુદ્ધાદ્વૈતાલંકારની પદવીથી સન્માનિત થયેલા. ગુજરાત રિસર્ચ સોસાયટી, અમદાવાદના નિયામક હોવાની સાથે તેઓ વિશ્વ હિન્દુ પરિષદના એક સ્થાપક સભ્ય પણ હતા. ૧૯૮૫માં તેમને ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય પરિષદના પ્રમુખ નિમવામાં આવ્યા. આ ઉપરાંત પુરાતત્વવિદ પણ હતા. કચ્છમાં લખપત તાલુકામાં જૂના પાટગઢ પાસેના પહાડમાં આવેલી ખાપરા કોડિયાની બે ગુફાની શોધ ઈ.સ.૧૯૬૭ માં કરેલી છે. તેઓ વિધાવાયસ્પતિ', પદ્મશ્રી', 'મહામહિમોપાધ્યાય', 'બ્રહ્મર્ષિ', 'વિધાવિભૂષણ' જેવા અનેક માન-સન્માનથી વિભૂષિત ગુજરાતી તેમજ 'કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રી' કે 'શાસ્ત્રીજી'ના હુલામણા નામે દેશભરમાં જાણીતા હતા. બહુશ્રુત વિદ્વાન એવા સ્વ.શ્રી કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રીજીની સર્જનયાત્રા તેમના દીર્ઘાયુ જેટલી માતબર અને અમૂલ્ય રહી છે. સંશોધક-સંપાદક, ભાષાશાસ્ત્રી, વિવેચક, કોશકર્તા અને અનુવાદક તરીકેની બહુમુખી પ્રતિભા ધરાવનાર સ્વ.કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રીજી પાસેથી અંદાજે 240 જેટલા પુસ્તકો અને 1500થી વધુ લેખ મળે છે. તેમને મળેલ સન્માન અને ઉપલબ્ધિઓ 1952 - રણજિતરામ સુવર્ણચંદ્રક, 1966 - અખિલ ભારતીય સંસ્કૃત સંમેલન તરફથી વિધાવાચસ્પતિ ની પદવી, 1966 - ભારતી પરિષદ, પ્રયાગ તરફથી મહામહિમોપાધ્યાય ની પદવી,1976 - ભારત સરકાર તરફથી પદ્મશ્રી. તેમણે તેમની સાહિત્યીક કારકિર્દી દરમિયાન કુલ 240 જેટલા પુસ્તકો અને 1500 લેખ લખ્યા છે. તેની સાથોસાથ 19 વિધાર્થીઓને પી.એચ.ડી માટે પણ માર્ગદર્શન આપ્યું છે. તેઓ વિશ્વ હિન્દુ પરિષદના સ્થાપક પણ રહી ચૂક્યા છે. મહત્વનું છે કે, બ્રહ્મર્ષિ અને વિધાવાયસ્પતિ જેવા ઉપમાનથી ઓળખાતા અને પાંડિત્યની પરાકાષ્ટાએ પહોંચેલા ગુજરાતી તથા સંસ્કૃત ભાષાના પ્રખર પંડિત સ્વ. શ્રી કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રીનું 9 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2006ના રોજ 101 વર્ષનું દીર્ઘ આયુષ્ય ભોગવીને અવસાન પામ્યા હતા. સંશોધક-સંપાદક, ભાષાશાસ્ત્રી, વિવેચક, કોશકર્તા તેમજ અનુવાદક કે.કા.શાસ્ત્રીનું સાહિત્યમાં અમૂલ્ય યોગદાન અનેક પેઢીઓ સુધી યાદગાર રહેશે.
